Any idea what's going on here - moving single star ??

Part way through a session last night I ran the Ha subs through 'Blink' in Pixinsight to check quality.

In movie mode there appears to be a star buzzing around tracing the shape of a letter B - nothing else in the frame is moving.

The attached movie file is with a phone of the screen - look below and right from the horsehead and you can see it.

Any ideas ??

have tried aligning the images then create the movie?

Would give a better idea of how it is moving in relation to the background.

May be a geostationary satellite?

or the aliens are setting a puzzle to be solved...

Not yet - by 03.30 I had had enough. Will try that when I get home from work tonight.

Watching the top or right hand border, the background seems to follow a similar path, suggesting perhaps a reflection or other artefact?

That part of Orion passed very close to Echostar 21 around 21:48 ish

I just checked one of my subs an there is no start where your wandering one was  - I suspect its a reflection that is somehow following your guiding corrrections

Its movements appear 'equal and opposite' to how the other stars move.

I had a blue blotch appear in not too far away from that point (further to the right), that was a smeared out result of stacking moving reflections from Alnitak.

I think this is a 'ghost of alnitak' as well.
