I took these photos about a week apart.

They represent two aspects of the Universe separated by  a 172 million years gap ......  but they have a certain familiarity.

(details: M51 : 23 million ly distant photographed from Harrogate, North Yorkshire.       Ammonite (195 million years old photographed at Runswick Bay, North Yorkshire).
