Hello tonight will be a DSO night (: and I would like to put a focus on Galaxies.

I am looking for suggestions of interesting galaxies I should check out tonight. If you have a few suggestions for my list, my instrument is 203mm aperture too.

Thanks.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Messier_objects

Scroll down a bit to the table, click on "Object Type" and you get all the galaxies grouped together.

May have the same for Caldwell Objects in Wiki, hlaf think the table there was updated to be similar.

Yes it is: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caldwell_catalogue

For some reason the Galaxies inthe Caldwell catalogue are typed together differently so they appear in 3 distinct but seperate groups.

Could also try this: http://arpgalaxy.com/#data

At the end of the Wiki page are links to similar like Herschell 400

Try catching the Sombraro Galaxy early in the night... its not too far away from Jupiter position... if dark adapted sight is developed, I actually saw the shape of the sombraro and a little bit of what seemed to be shading in the outer edges, along with the dust lane. This was trough my 8SE at a dark location.

Hello Mars, 5 minutes from departure!! Stellarium is telling me the sombrero galaxy M104 / NGC 4594 is not visible at all it's far bellow horizon....

Not true, it's there like you say but it's hiding bellow horizon at the same time has the sun...

I am off now, wish me luck. !

(:

You've probably already gone out, but I wouldn't expect to see much of Stephan's Quintet with a 150P. Maybe a very faint fuzzy patch but not individual galaxies. Hope you prove me wrong though!
