I was quite chuffed with my original image, but I've gone back to it and had several run throughs trying to clean up the noise and this is where I've got. I think it's crisper.

Yes, that second image is nice and crisp, with a better colour balance. I like the variation in star colours. Sorry, what camera did you use amongst your signature list?

Nice redo Neil, the clusters definitely pop out of the field more and the saturation of the field stars seems less aggressive (although sharper)

A more neutral background sky makes all the difference.

That was the 450D and the big difference was learning something about how to create and use a star mask properly.

You've done a good job of that.  I need to do something similar with my recent attempt at the double cluster shown here 

The stars in my clusters look "over cooked".  

Did you process in Photoshop or PixInsight?
