The 314L+ is a great CCD and is the first foray that many people have in the world of mono CCD's. You've mentioned the FOV, so I won't bother reiterating that :) It's a sensitive camera and cools well. Don't forget you'll need filters and a filter wheel as well :)

I've had an Atik 314L+ for many years and it's still performing perfectly, I keep it permanently stuck on my 10"SCT which it suits admirably, as you know it probably won't capture the same  FOV of the ED80 as the DSLR but no bad thing as it will get the nice flat bit in the middle.
