First Saturn of the year! Seeing was pretty good but you can guarantee hazy cloud has to appear from somewhere just at the vital moment. Frame rate was down in the 20s at reasonable gain and only 50s at very high gain.  Anyhow the higher gain avi produced the best image.

I used a red filter with the colour ASI224 cam so no faffing with a ADC.

Auto Dob 250 & 3x barlow + extension :

very good Stuart, know what you mean about the low horizon cloud don't it always move over. interesting about the higher gain being better, slow exposures nearly always produce more smear, not sure if thats a UK rubbish seeing effect. Same consideration I had on Neptune, went with high gain too. But just know it needs to be lower.
