Lunar 100 Map

Recommended Posts

For those wishing to do the Moon's 100 "most interesting features" (arguably) but anyway, great way to spend the nights when it is too washed out to observe fainter DSO's.

This has probably been put up before but here is a map that you can print off and laminate for observing sessions

Map with blue markers here also http://www.tanstaafl.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/lunar100blue.pdf

And the following can likewise be printed off and contains the descrition of what you are actually viewing.

You can buy them but obviously this is for free, I think we all like free. :hello2:

I embarked on the Lunar 100 some time ago and found the guide by Doc invaluable:- https://stargazerslounge.com/topic/96159-the-lunar-100-by-doc/

Good luck with the hunt, it certainly gets you involved with our neighbour.

BTW I've completed 79 of the 100 and have been stuck for months trying to observe some of the outstanding items.

That's a handy map to download, but there is a downside...... the numbers are in red so they disappear at night under a red head torch, you can google blue lunar 100 map and you get the same map but usable!! :happy11:

Good point although in all fairness when you are viewing the moon night vision is not really a concern so that's why I didn't think about is as an issue.

However it is still a valid point so here it is http://www.tanstaafl.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/lunar100blue.pdf

I edited the opening post too, thanks Lorne
