Comet Catalina 9 Dec 2015

This is approximately 60 x 13sec frames @5000iso taken with a Canon 300mm F4 lens on a Sony A7s all aboard my Astrotrac taken about 6am this morning. The comet was easy to find close to Venus and very easy to see on the live view of the camera.

Great shot Mel. I was hoping to see an image as I was observing yesterday morning and I'm sure that I could just make out a tail. What I could see did correspond with the longer tail in your image which was going towards that adjacent star. However, it was very difficult and nowhere near as obvious as in an image!

WOW!  It's hard to beleive it's the same comet as what I saw .
