allocated disk space

Hi

I am trying to upload an image for feedback from experts. However i am getting a message that i have used my allocated disk space. How can i free up my allocation?

Hi Dean and welcome to SGL, I am no computer expert in any shape or form, but logically it sounds as if the image you are wanting to upload has a file that is too big for the remaining disc capacity of your unit, a little editing of existing files you no longer want, may resolve the problem. This, of course, may be utter rubbish and not the answer. Badger is, however, correct as server upgrade work has been going on and if this problem is in any way related, you would need to make contact with the Administrators, code blue, enjoy the forum

Since the weekend I have uploaded photos to the gallery fine, though I always resize them and are less than 1mb.

Yes, it seems to me it is at your end where the problem is.

Just how large is the file you are wanting to upload Dean?

The Maximum single file size permitted is  1Gb.

1gb (there abouts) of total content per user I thought, individual file size is smaller off to check now wow it too is just under 1gb.

Thanks all for your replies very useful and of course helpful.  I did find where to delete images from old posts. So now have managed upload Orions nebula
