Problem with Astrotortilla/APT?

Has anyone had any issues with Astrotortilla hanging on "waiting for camera" after a solve requested?  

Reinstalled APT, Astrotortilla, rebooted everything, ASCOM platform all up to date etc diagnostics all ok.

It's talking to EQMOD ok as it's green "tracking"

It seems to be communicating to APT in terms of the incoming/opening and closing connection messages in the terminal

It works if I select my guide QHY5L-ii as an ASCOM camera (thought it can't find a solve)

Anyone come accross this before?

3 nights it's worked fine, and now this fail, most frustrating!

I believe the camera choice in AT should be the name of your image capture software. I use BYN (same as BYEOS). For either of them, you must also go to settings and select "emable TCP server".

Thanks but that's all as you say. Like I said it did work fine and now stopped, and I haven't changed anything!

Hiya

Might just be a software or hardware glitch. If it happens again try just repeating the capture and solve. Mine seems to get stuck sometimes. It seems to have a problem solving something on the reslew phase. It might be worth enabling the log viewer in Tools to see what it's doing.

if you're using APT, why not use platesolve2  http://planewave.com/downloads/software/ instead of astrotortilla? seems to be faster, and is used within APT.

Louise, I don't think it's even getting to the stage of solving, ; APT seems to think it's done it's job as far as I can see in terms of opening and closing connections with Astrotortila and executing it's shooting plan, but for some reason Astrotortilla looks like it's not getting the result, hence the hanging on "waiting for camera". I'll try the log file though thanks I didn't think of that.

Dave, thanks for the pointer I will investigate Platesolve2. I've posted a query on the Astrotortilla forum but it looks like it was a known error in APT several versions ago, so why it would manifest again in the latest version having worked fine till now is bemusing.

Any firewall/antivirus changes? Please make sure that both APT and AT are allowed to make remoter connections because they use TCP/IP to talk together...

I've not personally changed anything, but I can't see anywhere in APT or Astrotortilla where you can specify these things, even in the advanced tab in APT?

I've also switched off AV/Firewall and it has no effect.  I've trapped an error in the AT logfile though, but maybe someone more teccy than me can see what it might be getting at?

Could it be a USB issue? Failed cable, quirky hub?

Ok, large amounts of humble pie here... It turns out the "save to pc" setting on APT had been set to camera only, by me, by accident, by glitch or who knows. Sorry for wasting your time to those who tried to help. Sorry!
