This time I've used the colour QHY cam with the Coronado PST which does not produce newton rings unlike the mono. :

That is very good for a colour camera Stuart and interesting that you don't get Newton Rings.  When I tried a colour cam some time ago, it was all blurred (colour bleed) and a nasty pattern all over the sun.  There isn't any of that in your pic and you have retained a high level of detail.

Yep the colour cam works pretty well with proms too. I've managed to capture the full disk without needing a mosaic by moving the image across the screen during capture and then stacking in AS!2 using "expand" mode.
