New Camera issues - what to do?

I bought a Canon 1200d 2 weeks ago so its within the Amazon 30 day return period.

After 2/3 shots the screen either freezes or goes blank - so I need to drop out the batter and start again.

Would you just return it or try to update the firmware etc?

You could try a different memory card....updating the firmware might invalidate the 30 day period.....

It could also be a lens issue, try cleaning the contacts this sometimes works

I have a couple of older lens that sometimes cause this to happen so I tend not to use them anymore

sounds like the SD card to me use a grade 10 card

Sounds faulty to me, see if it still does it without an sd card and lens.

Amazon have about the best cs in the business, just ask them to send a new one out and collect that one.
