Solar Filter

Since there is a solar eclipse next month (if you didn't know lol), I would like to buy a filter/cap for my telescope.

I own an Celestron Astromaster 130eq.

I can't seem to find anything. I have found the material to do it but I don't feel confident enough to try and make my own.

You only need basic cardboard and sticky tape skills to make a solar filter holder for a scope (and some Baader ND5.0 film), but if you are really not that happy to make one then try FLO - if you tell them the scope you have they will be able to provide the correct size of filter. Making your own is quite normal.

Your scope would seem to be under the 155-165mm size, 130 Newtonians @ £41.

3 times i have bought a sheet of the solar film and tried to make a filter. 3 times i have failed.

Now i own a Hershel wedge and all the filters needed for solar observing. 

Aint seen the Sun since i bought it all.

I purchased a solar filter but a glass one fron Orion. I could not trust my self to make of of the film like material.

Just remember to tape it onto the telescope tube whether you buy or make it yourself.

You just never ever want it to fall off!
