Y-Mask

Can someone direct me to instructions on how to make a  Y-mask for focusing with a DSLR camera?

Alternatively is there a better alternative?

I use a Bahtinov for prime focus imaging and find it excellent.

Are there ones small enough for a standard DSLR lens?

Have not tried it yet, but reading from the link above it seemed like it needed a dewshield on the camera lens to work.

Something about it beeing to much out of focus if it was directly up against the optics.

Can't really recomend one since i haven't tried mine yet, but i can say i failed in making a bathinov mask and i found the Y mask easy to make
