Geminids fail

I attempted to take pictures of the Geminids last night, I saw a few but no pictures    Several planes and satellites though.

382 x 30 sec exposures Canon 500D (mod) 18-55mm lens (18mm @ f3.5) ISO1600.

Bad luck. I spotted only two or three. One nice long trail, but otherwise nothing to write home about.

I saw several visually, one bright in the area I was imaging and luck would have it it was when the camera shutter was closed between frames! Ahhhhhhhhhh.

James_screech, I love your star trail picture. I've not seen one so dense before. It is very effective even without Geminids.

Had a look for an hour, saw a couple, didn't bother trying to get any pic's as last time I set up two cameras for four hours and got squat as they were all really camera shy.

nice star trails though, I saw quite a few until the clouds moved in at around 1:30-2:00. managed to get 7-8 frames with meteors in them, quite faint though.

I saw loads visually but somehow also missed them with the lens. Nice star trail though, kinda reminds me of the rings of Saturn.

I had the chance to be outside Paris in a dark site at a friend's house for the weekend... I managed to see 4 in less than 10 minutes saturday night, but it got so cold that I had to go inside ...

I did not have my gear with me unfortunatly :/ now back in Paris with the clouds ....

Meteors are so difficult to catch. They often evade my lens too, so I have to be very patient. However, this year was my best for capturing meteors on camera. I don't even know how many I caught, but it must be more than 30.
