UFO's........???

Hi guys, my friend snapped this over the weekend and was baffled by it, does any one know what it could be he said they were not planes, was on sunday at about 15:45.....he said there were 4 streaks like these ones but did not capture them

also taken on mobile phone camera as he did not have his DSLR with him, picture was taken at itchen valley in southampton and they were almost directly south facing, they were there for about 10 minutes and then he had to go

They are planes with the contrails illuminated in the setting sun. I see them all the time.

Agreed, definitely planes. I see similar things all the time. Living near Heathrow does that to you!!

You frequently see two contrails heading in the same direction down the same air corridor but offset slightly to avoid turbulence from the plane in front.

I live near enough to Dublin Airport (and a couple of small airfields) and those images are purely contrails lit up by the setting sun.
