Wide field with AZ GOTO

I see there is a bracket to attach a DSLR to a SW AZ GoTo mount. They are only about £20, but is it worth getting? Is the mount accurate enough to bother trying wide field picture? Thanks.

Wide field is do able on one of these mounts you should be able to get between 20s and 1 min exposures depending on the lens focal length before star rotation gets too bad.

With 18mm I can get perfect 1min subs and 3min subs if crop out the centre half. The middle rotates very little, but edges do after about 90secs.

How do you align the mount for this, do you use live view on the dslr, or do you use the scope then remove it and mount the camera, or do you piggy back the camera on the scope?

I have a XT8G, and I made a wooden bracket that can hold either my Travel70 or 130EQ or just my DSLR. I align normally with my 8" Dob and then switch the scopes. If its the dslr I can just shoot away.

With the other scopes I use the live view or normal viewing window (I know that's not the correct name) to centre the object and PAE to better align if there is any slight mistakes when changing.

Sorry for double posting, but I will take some shots around Thursday, as I want to now find my limits with shooting in Alz/Az at different Ra/Dec. I will post my results with those and my first M43 tomorrow.
