HI,

This is my first ever image of a globular cluster which i found last night (still learning were all the cool stuff is) was having a mareish session after looking for m81 for about 45 Min's with no luck i just stated to slew the scope around in frustration when i happened to land on this fuzzy little fellow so i attached the camera and spent a while imaging it had to cross reference what it was in starry night pro because i didn't have a clue ! :).My first though was it might have been m13 but snp pointed me in the direction of ngc-5024 - M53.

regards Chris

You will probable think I've overdone this with the sharpen tool in luminosity mode but in Hi-res there was such a wealth of stars visible I couldn't resist a dabble during the lunch hour.

It really is an excellent image just needs a more delicate touch. :)

Cheers

Really lovely picture! You should be very happy with this. That's a smallish (only 3.3 diameter) and dimmish (7.7) glob compared to M13 (10 diameter and 5.9 mag) , therefore, I think you will be well pleased after you get a bash at Hercules cluster  .Nice job again!
