120ED iPhone Sun - 28th Sept 2014

Hand held shot with the iPhone today through the120ED. Of course, nothing like as much detail as visible visually but still not too bad.

Taken with 1.25" Lunt wedge, Continuum Filter plus 12.5mm BGO.

Here's my sketch using the Vixen 80mm F11, lunt wedge and 20mm (45x) and 12.5mm (72x) eyepieces - obviously the latter two are 'extracts' from the eyepiece view as the magnification would have to be a lot more to get this sort of field.

Matches your image quite well.

Cheers Dave, they are not too bad, quite pleased with them. I'm wondering whether an IR filter in the path would help sharpen things up, not sure how sensitive the iPhone camera is to IR?

Cracking sketches Shane. There really was an amazing amount of detail on show wasn't there? I didn't have my sketching stuff with me, but it seemed almost a case of not knowing where to start!
