M31 - Cannon 200mm f2.8

I thought I'd share a recent m31 image I took with the cannon 200mm f2.8L  lens. With a stock 60D. I ultimately want to use this lens with the sbig 8300m for most of my imaging. My used gm-8 mount has a lot of play in RA worm gear, and even with autoguiding, longer focal length imaging is not very practical for me. But with this awesome little lens, I can capture some beautiful detail and keep my star trails to a minimum, even unguided.

This image was only a set of 30 second, 800 iso, shot in raw, cannot quite remember my white balance setting. Roughly an hours worth of exposure. My post processing can use some serious work, but for the limited time spent on the target and processing, I am pleased.

This final image is significantly cropped, so the fov is not represented accurately here considering the lens and camera chip.
