Bank Holiday Sun Before Miserable Monday!

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

The Bank Holiday weekend went a bit better than I expected - Sun on two days before the inevitable endless rain on Monday  Thanks for looking! Luke

PS Sorry the prom shot is so tiny, it was meant to be a sharpening test, but I prefer it to the final full image!

Nice set Luke.  2 out of 3 days isn't bad.  Looks like your Quark is still working well.  I have gone back to my Lunt whilst mine is away for repair/re-calibration/adjustment but I like it still and is working well with my ASI120MM.

Absolutely crazily beautiful :) :) :) I thought you had sent your Quark back? is this number 4?

I have a question though, you say this is a chromosphere version which is supposed to be 0.5A. On your stunning prom shot you have caught the spicules beautifully however you also have a double limb, this is a characteristic of 0.7A as some of the photosphere leaks through so you see a sharp edge to the Sun. With 0.5A the spicules should be like rounded solid structures that go continuous to the edge, they should not be see through. I would try tuning to the next click and see what you get :) (I'm just being a perfectionist as I know you are aiming at perfection).

Thanks. all!

Robin, hope your Quark gets better soon!

Alexandra, thanks for the suggestion, much appreciated. I wouldn't have a clue myself looking at the piccy. Funny enough, I adjusted the tuning a while ago, from four clicks clockwise to two clicks clockwise, just to try, really. I may have made it worse!

I'll try four clicks clockwise again, I've changed it now so I don't forget!
