I heard there was one that when you point your phone in the sky it tells you whats there ?I think a lot of astronomy apps will be able to do that, Sky Safari certainly can.Stellarium doesStellarium does that also.I did try Stellarium on my iPad but found Sky Safari works better on Apple devices. lguise
Sky Safari is excellent but Star Walk is also quite fun although with both you need to be certain your compass setting is correct. My ipad seems a little unreliable as far as this goes, tends to swing through 90 degrees!Linton

Paul73
Tried most of them:- Sky Safari is really impressive (pay the extra for the good version)- Stelarium is free and good for use as a map whilest using the scope (A much simpler view than SF)I generally observe with Stelarium open on the iPad as a zoomable map and Sky Safari on the phone for the detail if I need it.Paul
