Mars and Jupiter with an achro

The seeing was reasonable so thought I would have a go at imaging through an achro. I used a dmk 21 and cheap RGB filters. Quite pleased with the detail really. Interesting to see what the scopes will do during good seeing. Trevor

That is a very nice result. What type of achro did you use?

Thanks, I used an evostar 120 for Mars and a 150 for Jupiter. The images were taken last weds and Thursday. Trevor

That's a lot of detail for just 5 or 6 inches of aperture. Well done.

Nice images for the size of scopes. I think the colour balance of Jupiter could possible do with a little more work, it looks as if it could do with a bit more red.

A very nice image of Jupiter, and Mars too.  I do agree on the colour balance issue.  Looks a bit biased towards the blue end of the spectrum to me.

I hear you with the colour balance for the Jupiter. I did similar with my 120mm and all came out with a purple hue, it was a nightmare to get anything like a colour balance, there is an image of jupiter in the state of purple hue in my gallery. a before and after kind of thing.
