Current use the hand box on my Classic LX200 but as prelude to remote imaging, I need s/ware control of goto pointing. My CdC any good and what h/ware / leads do I need ? :-)

you may be able to get drivers to work directly for your system
as I don't think EQMOD will work with the Meade system

If there is an ASCOM driver for your mount, then yes, you can use CdC to slew the telescope to anything you select in CdC.

used a RS232 cable LX200 and CDC with no problems what so ever for about 4 years - though the PC had a serial port you may need  a usb to serial adaptor

+1 for Steve's solution. I used a Keyspan USB>Serial. No issues, no drama.

(I have the current Nova Cen set as a "new Object" in CdC and can now just slew to the nova and start the spectrum imaging....)

The real show-stopper will be how to shift the dome! Plan A: motorize dome rotation or B: remove dome completely during imaging. The lightweight 1.7m dome currently runs on castors with a shove to aim slit in new direction easy if I'm in the dome! It will need a proper tracked system for smoothness. Plan B needs a simple (!) Gantry to lift the dome slightly and swing aside and park on adjacent roof - but then all is exposed to the elements including dew and neighbors LP. I've been dew-free in all my domes. Choices:-)
