Andromeda...?

Hi folks,

First decent clear skies last night for a while, so took the chance to do some observing.

I saw this just below Cassiopeia, but just above the horizon about 9pm.

Is it Andromeda...???

Yes, the "blob" in the centre of the image...

I've never swung my scope around in this direction before, so this is a first for me.

Absolutely loads to see in Cassiopeia and the nearby chain of Perseus. The Milky Way runs through here and it's fully of clusters,

I saw Andromeda for the first time in 3 years last week. Under my light polluted skies I knew it was Andromeda as I recognised that unmistakable faint fuzzy smudge.

There are some great clusters in that area. The double cluster between Perseus and Cassopeia being the most spectacular.

But also three nice M clusters as well in Auriga (M36, 37 and 38). There are some fantastic imaging targets in that area as well.
