A look at M31 anyone?

This was taken before Xmas, on 13th December.

10 exposures of 180 seconds at ISO 1600, using the Canon 300D through the WO Megrez 80II FD. Stacked and dark frame calibrated using DeepSkyStacker. Post processed in Photoshop CS2.

Extremely good result in every way Chris.

Never tire of looking at this object. Especially when it's as fine as this one is.

I found an image of some of M31's Globular clusters on the www and had a look at my image to see if I got any of them. Here's the result - amazing to think that these can be picked up by amateurs today!

What's really cool is seeing them in the ep with your own eyes! I managed a couple of them, G2 and G6 I think, from a dark site in AZ a few years ago through a 10" Lourey-Houghton owned by a friend of mine.
