Tea time observing

Is it me,or is there something satisfying about observing the moon at 4:30 in the afternoon?

Being up in the afternoon - it's kind of satisfying to know it'll be gone by the time I get the dob out later lol

To me the earlier the better  the Moon never gets in my way as it is one of the best objects to view.

See if you could spend sometime looking partly at the shaded half. it is usually the way to catch an asteroid. I only saw a flash of light on the dark half once...So the odds are not that high.

I have often been out observing in between Moon phases but I have not been fortunate enough to see anything like that

To be honest at that time I didnt have a clue what it actually was.

I did today take the little 70 mak to look at the moon while the oven warmed up leftovers

The only thing I can observe at that time of day is Venus thorough the car windscreen as I drive home

Yep - I was a complete airhead.

But seriously - that was years ago when I didn't have much of an experience in the field. In the beginning I thought it was some meteor or something, but didn't know that it was possible to capture these while observing the moon. I guess I was 'unfairly' lucky

Daytime lunar viewing is pretty nice. With everything around lit up, it doesn't feel OMG BRIGHT like it does at night.
