Comet Lovejoy 7/12/13

Recommended Posts

Really bright , just over from completing the arc of Corona Borealis. Had to be quick this morning as cloud was rolling in. On the verge of naked eye, but easily picked up in x8 bins.grabbed the Heritage 130 and the back of a book and drew at the ep.

If you haven't seen this then do have a go,

Great stuff Nick. I've managed to view it in the evening sky as I'm not great at getting up early. Does it have a higher elevation in the morning sky?

I like how you've captured the filaments in the tail. I just caught fleeting glimpses of this through my binoculars.

10th Dec

Observed it 06:15 this morning, around 40 degrees (NE) up  near Hercules.

Still very bright in Binos, finder and just about any optical equipment.

Nice Tail too if you dont pile on too much power.
