Hi.

just thought to mention that the basic version of SkySafari is currently free for iOS (until 1st Dec). I've just got it and it looks to be better than the other star chart apps I have.

99p for the Android version till 1st December. I have just splashed out and it seems a very useful app.

I paid about 2 quid for mine a few months back. Its a really good app.

Yup I'm a SkySafari Pro guy myself.

Certainly the best of the mobile device apps that I've used and as good as any desk top planetarium I've used and I've used a lot of them.

Back in the days of the Amiga computers there was "Digital Universe" head and shoulders above the limited competition at that time and for me yet to be equaled. SkySafari comes closest.

Me too and i dont really use any reference materials of any kind while observing. I use SkySafari for those nights im away from home without bins or scope just to get myself orientated. People do ask me what the hell i am doing pointing my phone at the sky. I joke with them and say i'm trying to get a good reception.

I have sky safari cost about 6 quid if i remember but I prefer skeye to be honest. Perhaps it's just that bit simpler and suits the way my simple mind works.

Just looked for SkEye but it doesn't seem to be on iOS at present. One up for Android again.
