What's this screw for?

I've had my 200p for over a year now, and never figured out what this screw is for.  Its on the O-Rings holding the place the scope, and has a large round "nut" with a serated edge rather than hexagonal.  What accessory could I buy without my wife finding out that I didn't know I needed until someone tells me what accessory could fit on this screw?

I think its so you can piggyback a camera on to it.

It's to mount a DSLR type camera onto the top of the scope. Quite effective for capturing a widefield photo when imaging another target.

Although...the best solution for a camera with long lens is a dovetail...a single screw mount won't provide as much stability.

I know what it's meant for, but I find it really useful for hanging the remote timer / shutter release thing from when I'm imaging.

I've actually piggy packed a small refractor with a 1/4" thread on the dovetail bar on top of my scopes that have this screw thread on the tube rings.  Enables you to have a dual function scope.  Narrow and brighter main + dimmer but wider RFT.
