I was playing with my new recent astro purchases today with the intention of imaging some sunspots between the clouds. I have not done much imaging of sunspots with a fast frame camera before so this is quite new to me. Anyway, these are the results:

Cheers Steve. I was extremely windy when I was out getting these and the seeing was all over the place. I hope you get a decent bit of blue sky to try out your new toy.

Here is another version of AR11818 from an earlier capture, imaged with a x2.5 powermate instead of a x3 barlow. I don't think the seeing was good enough to use a x3 barlow.

Thanks Robin and James.

James, it took me ages to get round to using my ASI120 for solar imaging. It is definitely worth it though, capturing 640 x 480 frames @ 112 fps (or 512 x 440 frames @ 122 fps) is great for capturing lots of data during the moments of better seeing.

Cheers,

Chris

Thanks Luke. I used the Esprit ED 120 Pro with a Baader Herschel Wedge for these images. Unfortunately I 'wasted' the best seeing at the start of the session by being mesmerised by the view through an EP. When will I learn not to put an EP in the scope...

Cheers,

Chris
