The SPC900 image is very good. Well done!

If the DSLR image was from a video stack, the poorer quality could be because DSLRs compress the video files in order to save them to the card quick enough to keep up with the high frame rate (similar to running the SPC900 at 30+ fps). Running the SPC900 at 5 or 10 fps allows it to save the full information to your laptop without compression which looses image data and therefore quality.
