White light Sun, 18th March

The sky was clear this morning when I woke up, but cloud was slowly building from the west so once the animals were sorted and off to school and the chickens were let out I had a race on my hands to set up and get some subs. The seeing appeared fairly good which was just as well as I had to abandon the effort before I had as many frames as I'd have liked and had to drop quite a few that were disfigured by cloud, but I ended up with 41 decent ones to stack. Same capture details as usual: 1/1000th @ ISO 100 with the 450D and Mak 127, preprocessed using PIPP and stacked with Registax v6.

Nicely caught James ,

I put the kit in the van first thing and then checked the forecast , looked dire so unpacked.

Got five miles up the road and the fog cleared to reveal a lovely sky . . .

Working in a big shed full of scopes and none to play with . . . typical.

It's going with me tomorrow whatever .
