The moon was looking good just as I was going to bed last night, so whipped out my trusty Canon SX40 and, hand-held, managed to get a couple of good images, one of which is below. A bit grainy as I didn'r realise I had it set to ISO800 until I just downloaded it!!

That's very nice - it just seems to be hanging from nothing. You must have very steady hands to get a shot like that hand-held. Is it a cropped image, or what lens did you use?

Yes it is cropped Chris.

When I say hand held, then that is true, however I did wedge myself tightly against the door frame! Took six shots and only two were sharp enough. The SX40HS is a bridge camera, so I used that at full extension (x35 which I guess equates to about 700mm on a full frame DSLR or approx 1100mm on APSc DSLR).
