The Sun 17 February 2013 white light

Back in the observatory now as I can just see the Sun over the wall and to the side of the trees. So this is taken with the ED 120APO. I managed to get a swift .avi of AR1671 before the haze became too thick to continue.

Nicely done. The fog is about burnt off here now, so I may have a chance myself a bit later. Though first I have to go and pluck a cockerel that was unnecessarily aggressive one time too many this morning...

Still cloudy here , seems we have the only bit of cloud in the country according to sat24

Nice image Roger, even more anxious to get out now with all that activity.

There's more cloud in the south west than sat24 suggests. Looking out of the window I'd say about 50% at the moment. I shall be getting the scope out and taking my chances shortly nonetheless.

Hi Roger,

Well timed an excellent set of photos. AR1671 is a real stunner. I waited until about 10:30 for the sun to clear the haze and had good views for about an hour before it went behind high cloud/mist. It is still there, but I am processing the pictures from earlier now.
