Lightweight battery - would this work?

I'm looking for a lightweight battery solution for travelling. This looks interesting - at the reduced price!

http://www.amazon.co.uk/10000mAh-Multi-voltage-Recorders-Lightning-Sensation/dp/B006WHMKEE/ref=sr_1_21?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1360597749&sr=1-21

Do you think it would be enough to run a lightweight mount EQ3-2 type and a CCD? (maybe one battery pack for each!)

Thanks

Helen

Um, not sure it would Helen

If you are adding the EQ motors to the standard EQ3-2 mount, then this is 6v, not 12. So this pack would not do as it doesn't have a 6v output, that I can see at least.

I would think something like this: http://www.batterymasters.co.uk/Product-Ultramax-NP12-12,-12V-12Ah-Sealed-Lead-Acid-Rechargeable-Battery-(L(mm)-W(mm)-H(mm)-151-98-97.5)_1380.aspx would be better for the camera and this http://www.batterymasters.co.uk/Product-Ultramax-NP10-6,-6V-10Ah-Sealed-Lead-Acid-Battery-(L(mm)-W(mm)-H(mm)-151-50-97.5)_1378.aspx for the mount?

?

You need to be careful not to over discharge Lithium battery. They tend to explode if discharged too quickly.

That Ankier battery looks like it's designed for small gadgets with a low current draw so it may not be suitable for GOTO and CCD. External batteries designed to power laptop would be a better bet. e.g. This one is roughly equivalent to a 12V 7Ah with a 3.5A output http://www.amazon.co.uk/Energizer-XP18000-Universal-Rechargeable-External/dp/tech-data/B002K8M9HC/ref=de_a_smtd

I used one to power my laptop and QHY5v when I imaged the Venus Transit abroad last year. It lasted about 4 hours before running out and then my laptop switched to its internal battery for the remainder of the transit. (the mount was a simple single axis drive powered by 8 AAs)

The Anker battery pack is a fantastic bit of kit, I have two of them, does 5v 9v or 12v and will charge a phone or tablet (fully charges my Nexus 7 twice before needing to be recharged itself). It will certainly power your CCD but I'm not sure it would drive a mount for long and it's a bit expensive to buy on the off chance for that.
