77% Waxing Gibbous 22 December 2012

Here's tonight's waxing gibbous moon. Single shot, 1/640 ISO 400. I'm hoping to get a new webcam and do a lunar mosaic soon, should be fun. Thanks for looking!

Lovely. Too cloudy here in Norway for any stellar observations, but the Moon kept peeking in and out of clouds and I was happy to see something up there at last with my faithful bins.

And it looked pretty much the same as what you've posted above.

I still get a sense of awe and wonder that should never be lost ... you in the USA, me in Norway, and we are looking at the same thing from our different viewpoints. The Earth is round, the Moon is a quarter of a million miles away from us, and we can both see it!

And, now due to the wonders of the Internet and pretty-much-instantaneous messaging and information flow, we can share it!
