Event Jupiter on 1st August

In the night of 1st August will happen a rare event of Jupiter's satellites : double transit and double shades of Io and Europa. Then only of this year!

Yes, by the looks of Stellarium. I'm just going out to check the cloud cover now...

Yup, we're covered by cloud. It's so thick that not only can I not see the moon, but I can't even tell whereabouts it is in the sky. And it's a full moon tomorrow. I think that just about writes the event off for me

It does seem to be that the only transits we see around here are the long wheelbase variety, with a fresh delivery of cloud. Hey ho.
