EQ3-2 RA Scale

The RA scale on my EQ3-2 mount (new) is seemingly unusable. It flops around unless locked on zero. Slips as the mount is rotated and has an in-out play of probably 2 to 3 mm.

Pulling it down so that it rests on the Hour scale on the polarscope head seems to help a bit but it is really a useless part of the instrument.

OK so I can use the GOTO display so there is probably little need for this to be used but it should be better.

Is this a common feature of this mount (as I thinks some comments seem to allude to) or is it a fault or is there a way of adjusting it?

The scale on mine is so loose that I've never even contemplated using it.

Mine's more like a bangle than anything , ignore it or use it to baffle nosy neighbours and relatives - it's good for nowt else......

Thanks, I will just look at it and wonder why they wasted their (our) money by putting it there in the first place!

Mount is totally manual so I barely use setting co-ords.

As I got my EQ3-2 2nd hand, I always thought the RA scale was broken?
