Crescent Nebula - Round 1

Hi

So this is 2 hours worth of 600 second exposures, stacked and processed (not particularly well). Nights are short but hopefully will get more data. Oh taken with kit in signature.

Looking good this is a faint one to capture but it looks great.

Good start, nice star colour and the detail of the neb is coming through. Good luck with the challenge of getting more data, I hope the weatherman plays ball too it's hard enough only having a couple of hours on the night.

Maybe it could have done with a bit more of a stretch and the black point higher than you've set it, do you think that would help to bring out more of the detail?

Always found this object difficult even with a modded DSLR.

Not sure what ISO you used 800 prob the min to use. I found the Astronomik CLS was excellent at reducing light pollution , helped bring out the details and gave a good colour balance with Canon cameras.

But , this is a good start and guiding looks spot on.

Yes indeed, revised version attached, obviously still need more data, quite happy with it now mind.

Cloudbuster had a bash at this 7 x 12.5mins..with an EOS

Cant see the extra 2.5mins making much difference..

That's much better, can see even more detail and it looks more natural. Should be an even better result when this is higher in the sky and you get more subs added to it.
