Hi All,

After a 5 week hiatus due to clouds and travel, I managed to get a couple of hours on M101.

This is my first go at this one, looking forward to spending more time on it.

110 Minutes in 10 minute subs (ISO 800)

20 Darks

20 Flats

I'd forgotten about the supernova, so I guess that's another first for me.

In other people's images it looks large and whitish, it's come out blue for me, is this normal ? is it fading now ?

WOW!! That's lovely :) I'll probably have another go at M101 next time we get clear skies. Try and get a lot more time on it. I need to get PHD working a bit better too.

Great to be out again QM : )

Actually it was quite scary how much I'd forgotten.

I was scratching my head for 5 minutes as to why I couldn't see anything through the polar scope..... then I remembered you have to rotate the mount head on the HEQ5 to see through the scope.... doh.

Yes, I'll probably edit out the sat, although its the first one I've had so far, so I kind of like it.

Once again, sorry to hear about the rain damage on your dual axis kit, it's a shame I've flogged mine, I could have posted it to you to tide you over.
