Gimp 2.8 Released

I don't use it myself, but I know a lot of you do...

Is this what I think it is?

-Support loading 16bit (RGB565) raw data.

Thank you for the heads up GIMP is what I use ATM - in Linux, OS X and Windows versions.

Not sure if anyone is using this plugin; but it appears to enable GIMP to work with 16 bit RAW files:

i tried the mac version, (via macports) but it needs xcode and every time i open the app store to get it it throws up my phones "are you using this as a hotspot when your not supposed to" message :'( i have unlimited all you can eat data, but they wouldnt upgrade me to the all you can eat hotspot plan as i have a old contract :'( if any one has xcode they can bung into a drop box for me.....

Just downloading 2.8 now...

there was an announcement on the home page that the developer version of gimp now supports 16 and 32 bit processing, so hopefully, it won't be too long in coming.

Just downloaded The Mac binary here:

But it will still convert 16 bits tiff to 8 bit when opening ...

Gareth, That's a DMG, so should be compiled I think. Yes, for MAC it still requires X11 for the window manager.

I had X11 still installed ... so it just works ...
