Usually only Polaris is visible for me, maybe once or twice in 3 yrs has Pherkas and Kocab been visible from my garden. Basingstoke train station and its flood lights are half a mile north of my back yard though!

I did the test from here:

Naked Eye Limiting Magnitude: Redux Dark Sky Diary

this morning at about 00:45. Conditions weren't outstanding, but reasonably good -- I couldn't make out the Milky Way, for instance, which I can do easily on a very clear night.

Ursa Minor was easily visible and I could see star number 10 in the above diagram. I thought I could make out 12 with averted vision, but I couldn't find 11 and perhaps it's the cluster of stars around 12 that I was picking up as a whole. I think I can be quite happy with that.
