Moon and Blue object???

I'm new at this. Actually, this is my first DSLR, so I'm still learning. Anyways, I was taking a pic of the moon with the Venus and Jupiter alignment on Feb. 27th 2012 at about 7:30PM central time with my Sony a100, 300mm lens (don't really know much about the settings I had the camera on), and this blue thing showed up near the moon. I do know this was a long exposure shot. I didn't see the blue thing when I took the pic...so what do you all think it could be? Blue giant star maybe??? I really don't know; would love to hear your thoughts.

Looks like a lense flare to me.

Definitely lens flare, caused by having a very bright object in the field of view.

It's a UFO! The camera clearly bypasses the cloaking device that stops us seeing it visually. It's the only rational explanation.

Well, that or a lens flare, but I'm sticking with the aliens.

I bet you've got a UV filter on the lens, I did that once with the moon, and you get this every single time. It's bad enough with the lens flare, but add the UV filter...

I get this when taking photos of the moon over 1 sec , I only take the little front cap off to keep the light down.

Thanks guys! Yes, there is a UV filter on the lens. Probably what's causing this. Dang, I was hoping it really was a UFO! Haha!
