BST/Starguider

Have BST Explorer's changed their name to Starguiders ? I have been keeping an eye on Skies the Limit and Skies Unlimited for a while, been waiting for a certain E.P to become available. Anyway I noticed the 5mm BST Explorer has had a name change. Also the colour banding has changed. Wonder if this is going to happen to all the Explorers. Hope not.

Its the ones listed on Skies Unlimited, the ebay branch of Skies Unlimited. Only the 5mm so far.

There's been some discussion over this, I think there's a question of copyright over the "Explorer" branding? If that's the case, the next batches of all of them may well be changed.

They are sold under four different names (same EP) that I am aware of

It's not about the EP design, it's about the name on the side.

Copyright rules are funny like that in China I think, there's a clone or two of nearly every EP on the market

They are the same eyepieces, only called 'Starguider' now, most of the BST Explorer branded ep's are now out of stock, but exactly the same ep, as mentioned, the colour banding has changed, which makes it all rather confusing.

Alan mentioned this on his e-bay site,the 5mm BST'S have been renamed Starguider they are the same eyepiece just a different name.

Yep, my 8mm came to me as a starguider, it's still amazing though.

Great that its the same EP, I contacted Alan yesterday regarding my EP on order and apparently the price is going up a little too. Not complaining of course the Explorer/Star-guiders are a class act for the price.
