Surely something running off just 6 AA batteries doesn't really have the power to heat up that much! Thinking of getting one, though, to wrap round the scope to use as a dewshield.

Your right lukebl, 6 AA batteries could never heat that much area upto 45C for any length of time, unless the ambient temperature was already something like 40C or more to start with.

hmm, the matching gloves and shoe inserts look good; might look into making something that runs off of 12V instead and then I can crocodile clip myself to a car battery.

There is 12V motorcycle gear, but it tends to be expensive

i went for one of these kits but it turned out that for a saving of almost 105.00 i could get the monthly Hustle Magazine that did the same trick without the need for a recharge. (heads up)
