M42 with 120ED

Taken with SW120ED and modded canon 450D, about 1h20m of 4 mins subs, from a dark sky site. any comments and critisicim welcome.

That is superb! If I'm really forced to add a critical point the centre is overly bright but I believe that to be a major challenge with M42.

Hope I can manage something vaguely similar when I get a chance.

Thanks for the comments, i didnt want to make the core to dim as i think it detracts from the nebula but i suppose its personal choice!

Lovely although I am surprised by the colour for a modded camera. I prefer a brighter core region too. It is a very active area and I think this shows that to great effect.

thanks yes it does come out very red initially with my modded camera i toned the red down as i though it looked too red, but maybe iv gone to far with it? Can see another process coming on!

Great Orion Nebula photo- did you use a focal reducer?

Thanks Laser, no reducer or corrector just camera plugged into the scope!

If only M42 wasnt drowned in the murk of Bolton from my garden. Guess I am gonna have to pack it all in the 4x4 and take a drive across the border.

Very nice image, I would agree that the colour is a bit blue, but still a fantastic shot.

Just love this image especially the composition well done

I find it very encouraging to see a lovely image captuted at F7.5 with a DSLR using just 1 hour and 20 mins data.

It is pictutes like this that are making me itch to give AP a try. I look forward to your next one!
