Frosty and wet scope

My scope has been out for about 5 hours - I was with it for most of the time. Just brought it back in with frost and damp on it and in it.

I was wondering is there any special precautions I should take re drying it off. At the moment it has the end cover off and set horizontally. Also EPs - anything I should be careful of. Strangely no problems with it misting up when viewing

if you store it in a shed, you could just wipe down the tube, leave the optics to dry overnight...there designed to get frosty ect....

The tube will be fine. To clear the optics store it uncapped in a horizontal or slightly downward position.

The best advice is just leave it well alone it will dry of its own accord especially left in anyroom in the house (well away from pets and kids) as Tinker says if its in a shed you could wipe the outside of the OTA down. DO NOT try anything with the optics scope or EPs you will only add dirt/dust etc.

my scope and gear was frosty by 9pm tonight bought it all in and waited....went back out at 11pm and just come in due to cloud

Personally, I put covers over EP's when they come indoors and I do the same with scope optics. Dust settles on moisture, so keep glass covered. It'll dry in time and dry cleaner.

Speaking of frost this was how my DOB looked when i came in at 1am

I just leave my kit in my outhouse to dry.

Ha! Love Taffy's pic. It was mighty cold last night but was nice and clear. My friends think I'm mental standing out shivering in the garden for 3 hours!
