AstroPlanner

Recommended Posts

I've been using AstroPlanner for the last seven years or so.

The new V2 is fantastic!

You can prepare an evenings observing list using any objects from the +200 Catalogues and set up your favourite scope/ eyepieces -to tell you the best combinations....

It seamlessly works with Cartes du Ciel and will control your GOTO telescope.

All your observations (and images) can be recorded and stored with the object...

Highly recommended!!

What Merlin66 said, nothing more to add really. I believe you can try it free with limited catalogues to see if you like it or not. I find it essential for planning each month potential targets, then, if the weather clears time not lost thinking of something to do.

Hi,

Thanks for the comments on Astroplanner.

I viewed their website which gives a good series of screen shots of the type info available.

I have downloaded the short version of the User Guide, it appears to be well written with clear instructions.

I now plan to download the application and try it out in its limited edition, once I am happy that it will be useful to setting up an evening's viewing in advance, I think that I will make the payment and get the benefit of all the facilities.

Interested in using it in conjunction with Stellarium.

Cheers

Adrian
