Hmmmm, now where did I leave my credit card?

I guess these filter combo's only bring out detail on the solar disc and don't show up prominences - or were there just none around at the time of testing.

I am under the impression prominences are only visible with highly specialised (and expensive!) Ha filtering telescopes (££££)

I agree, the prominences and main filaments aren't visible in white light, you need to step up to viewing/imaging in H-a to see them

With astrosolar IR has very poor contrast due to the deeper IR rejection properties of the AstroSolar. In my case yellow bandpass filter (590 nm) was bit better than Solar Continuum (maybe due to Na and He absorption bands in his range). Yellow longpass that includes IR ~ unusable / low image quality.

I'm curious if logarithmic high dynamic range sensor - http://www.new-imaging-technologies.com/native-wdr-cmos-sensors.html - would give something extra for solar imaging?

I think there could be applications, there are plenty of narrowband filters in the IR that could be of interest...

I have been using the 705nm "TiO" filter that others have tried and got good results. Seems like I have to retry the continuum filter with an IR blocker.... Thanks for the hard work, it's good to see how we can get even better images!!
